The 3rd BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation (Worldskills Hi-Tech) Competition 2019 was held in two competition areas: China and Russia. From October 28th to November 1st, the final of 26 events were held in Ekaterinburg in Russian. There were more than 500 participants from four BRICS countries including China, Russia, South Africa and Brazil, and from Belarus, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Iran and other Eurasian countries.

Under the guidance of Professor Jianhong Du, Hancai Bao, majoring in Numerical Control Technology, from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of the university, won the silver medal in reverse engineering.
