On May 19th, a meeting on international student management was held in Suzhou Vocational University. Zhang Jian, vice president of the university, heads of teaching affairs office, student affairs office and the relevant colleges engaging in international student teaching attended the meeting. 

Tang Xiaojun, vice dean of International College, introduced the student management during the past vacation, the pre graduation work of grade 2017 students and the internship arrangement for South African student project. Other colleges introduced international students’ teaching, especially how to carry out online teaching when some students were still in their home countries due to the epidemic. All departments and colleges had discussions on the problems and difficulties faced by the international student management, mainly on how to update the management system and improve the international student training quality and management level. 

Zhang Jian pointed out that cultivation of international students is a systematic project and an important part of the internalization of the university. He put forward some suggestions for the international student cultivation work, such as caring about the students’ study and life, respecting cultural differences and to promote international communication and friendship, enhancing international exchange and cooperation between higher vocational education, sharing teaching resources, advantages and experience of Chinese vocational education mode with the world, and to serve the national Belt and Road Initiative.
